چکیده
As engineering equipment is applied in a harsh environment with heavy load, cyclic stress, and wide range of temperatures, the reliability becomes challenge, especially when wear contact involved. Hence, design exploitation an advanced alloy surface may hold key to control minimize friction transmission system for safety-critical applications. High entropy alloys (HEAs) or multi-component have been proved outstanding mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, high-temperature oxidation resistance potential use as reduction coatings. In this paper, properties development status HEAs coating systems tribological applications were reviewed gain better understanding their advantages limitations obtained by different preparation methods. Specifically, focus was paid magnetron sputtering, laser cladding, thermal spraying since these three deposition methods more widely used wear-resistant friction-reducing Building upon this, correlation between composition, well characteristics coatings are summarized. Finally, problems be solved move field forward future trend tribology application HEA outlined.

Tribological behavior of sputter-deposited MoSX/Ni coatings
AbstractSputtered MoS2 coatings have been mostly used as a solid lubricant. In this investigation, MoSx/Ni composite coatings with Ni contents varying from 0 to 22 % were deposited onto steel substrate using a DC magnetron sputter process. The MoS2/Ni ratio in the coatings was controlled by sputtering the composite targets. The composition, microstructure, and mechanical properties of the...
متن کاملDeformation Behavior of Al0.25CoCrFeNi High-Entropy Alloy after Recrystallization
Cold rolling with subsequent annealing can be used to produce the recrystallized structure in high entropy alloys (HEAs). The Al0.25CoCrFeNi HEAs rolled to different final thickness (230, 400, 540, 800, 1000, 1500 μm) are prepared to investigate their microstructure evolutions and mechanical behaviors after annealing. Only the single face-centered cubic phase was obtained after cold rolling and...
متن کاملTribological Behavior of Reinforced and Unreinforced High Chromium Cast Iron
In this paper, the metal matrix composites containing 22 wt % Cr, 2.5 wt % C and 2 to 16 volume percent TiC were processed by solidifying Fe-Cr-Ti-C in which precipitation of titaniumcarbide and chromium carbide occurred. The microstructure and abrasion resistance of in-situ synthesized composites were compared with the unreinforced high chromium white cast iron (HCWCI) containing 22 w. t. % C...
متن کاملGradient DLC-Based Nanocomposite Coatings as a Solution to Improve Tribological Performance of Aluminum Alloy
The low hardness and poor tribological performance of aluminum alloy as moving component greatly restricts their wide applications in automotive fields. In this letter, an attempt to deposit gradient Ti/TiN/Si/(TiC/a-C:H) multi-layer on aluminum alloy is thus effectively performed by a combined arc ion plating and magnetron sputtering process based on the concept of involving coatings with a fu...
متن کاملMicrostructure of Laser Re-Melted AlCoCrCuFeNi High Entropy Alloy Coatings Produced by Plasma Spraying
An AlCoCrCuFeNi high-entropy alloy (HEA) coating was fabricated on a pure magnesium substrate using a two-step method, involving plasma spray processing and laser re-melting. After laser re-melting, the microporosity present in the as-sprayed coating was eliminated, and a dense surface layer was obtained. The microstructure of the laser-remelted layer exhibits an epitaxial growth of columnar de...
